Asthma

What is Asthma?

Asthma is a common lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties.

It affects people of all ages and often starts in childhood, although it can also develop for the first time in adults.

There’s currently no cure, but there are simple treatments that can help keep the symptoms under control so it doesn’t have a big impact on your life.

Symptoms

The main symptoms of asthma are:

● Wheezing (a whistling sound when breathing) ● Breathlessness ● A tight chest, which may feel like a band is tightening around it ● Coughing

The symptoms can sometimes get temporarily worse. This is known as an asthma attack.

Several conditions can cause similar symptoms, so it’s important to get a proper diagnosis and correct treatment.

Your GP will usually be able to diagnose asthma by asking about symptoms and carrying out some simple tests.

Treatments

The main types are:

● Reliever inhalers – used when needed to quickly relieve asthma symptoms (salbutamol) ● Preventer inhalers (steroid) – used every day to prevent asthma symptoms occurring ● Some people also need to take tablets.

Causes and triggers

Asthma is caused by swelling (inflammation) of the breathing tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. This makes the tubes highly sensitive, so they temporarily narrow.

It may occur randomly or after exposure to a trigger. Common asthma triggers include:

● Allergies – to house dust mites, animal fur or pollen, for example ● Smoke, pollution and cold air ● Exercise ● Infections like colds or flu ● Identifying and avoiding your asthma triggers can help you keep your symptoms under control

  • Moderately refractory asthma (refractory symptoms)Asthma in people who have had exposure to a trigger

Refractoriness is an expected side effect of asthma medication, but it is a very common side effect and there is no well-controlled data on why.

Amneseseping are a rare side effect of asthma medication, but it is a side effect that may be side effects – see (refractory) asthma.

    Introduction

Ventolin is a bronchodilator medication used in the treatment of bronchospasm and emphysema in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease-induced asthma.

Ventolin is a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SAB-2) used to treat acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease- induced asthma) and to relieve exercise-induced bronchospasm.

Ventolin is a reversible inhibitor of pulmonary histamine release and is effective in relieving exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients with COPD, asthma and emphysema.

Ventolin is a selective beta-2 agonist (SAB-3) used in the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Ventolin is a bronchodilator medication, which relaxes bronchial muscles by relaxing the muscles in the airways and increasing airflow to the lungs. Ventolin is a selective beta-2 agonist (SAB-4) used to treat asthma and COPD, and emphysema.

Ventolin is a selective beta-2 agonist (SAB-5) used in the treatment of acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease- induced asthma) and to relieve exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients with asthma.

    Mechanism of Action

Ventolin is a selective beta-2 agonist (SAB-3) used to treat acute and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease- induced asthma.

Ventolin works by activating receptors in the airways, such as histamine, histamine, adrenergic, and adrenergic receptors, in the lungs.

The histamine and adrenergic receptors are present in the bronchial smooth muscle of the airways, and they are activated by histamine.

Ventolin effectively relieves exercise-induced bronchospasm in patients with COPD, asthma and emphysema.

    Indications

Ventolin is indicated for the treatment of acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults and pediatric patients aged 2 years and over. It can be used for the treatment of acute obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in adults and the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in pediatric patients aged 2 years and over.

    Dosage and Administration

Ventolin is administered orally to the lungs. It is taken orally once or twice a day with or without food, preferably once a day. The dose may need to be adjusted according to the patient's response.

Ventolin should be administered in two steps:

First, the dose should be adjusted according to the response and severity of the symptoms. It is recommended to increase the dose by 10 mg up to 25 mg twice daily. The maximum daily dose is 200 mg.

The second step is to carefully follow the prescribed dose and treatment plan in case of exacerbations.

The oral dosage and administration should be completed using the Ventolin inhaler provided with the device. In case of overdose, a complete overdose treatment is not recommended.

The administration of the inhaler should be preceded by the instructions that the inhaler should be provided to provide the most accurate information about the medication.

    Overdose

Ventolin overdose should be avoided, in the event that the dose prescribed by the doctor is accidentally increased, because the patient can be allergic to the drug or the dose may be inaccurate.

If the dose is too high, then the patient may experience increased breathing rate or other serious symptoms.

The inhaler should be stopped, the patient should be instructed to seek medical attention, and emergency medical treatment should be initiated.

    Overdose with or without food

In overdose with or without food, it is advisable to use the Ventolin inhaler and avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until the overdose has stopped.

In case of the excessive use of Ventolin, the patient should not use the inhaler.

Ventolin is commonly prescribed as an aerosol inhalant administered through an inhaler. For most individuals, two inhalations should be taken every four to six hours. This usually comes out to about two inhalations four times a day. More frequent inhalations are not recommended.

To prevent exercise-induced bronchospasms, it is recommended that you take two inhalations of Ventolin fifteen minutes before physical activity.

The exact dosage and schedule will vary depending on the patient's age, body weight, and severity of the condition. Take the medication exactly as your doctor has instructed.

Do not increase your dosage or discontinue the use of Ventolin unless ordered to do so by your doctor. If you experience any adverse reactions, contact a health care provider. Your dosage may increase or decrease depending on your doctor’s orders.

You should store your medication in a closed container at room temperature, away from extreme heat, extreme cold, moisture, and direct light, and keep it out of the reach of children.
